Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada or USA, responsible for developing and managing sales activities for CMO North America within assigned territories. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and building long-term relationships with distributors, engineering firms, OEMs, and end users in target industries. The role involves conducting customer visits, product presentations, and technical discussions to understand application needs and recommend appropriate valve solutions. The Area Sales Manager will prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate contracts and pricing, and collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. The position also requires monitoring market trends and competitor activity, maintaining a structured sales pipeline, and reporting on performance metrics to support strategic planning and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong sales, account management, and business development skills, ideally in industrial equipment, valves, or related flow control products.

• Technical aptitude to understand valve types, applications, and specifications, with the ability to discuss solutions with engineering and operations stakeholders.
\n
• Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse customer groups.
\n
• Proficiency in using CRM systems and basic business productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations) to manage pipelines and reporting.
\n
• Experience working with or selling into sectors such as water and wastewater, mining, pulp and paper, biogas, or hydropower is highly beneficial.
\n
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and meet or exceed sales targets in a structured, professional manner.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred.
\n
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory and occasionally internationally; professional working proficiency in English is required, and Spanish or French is an asset.
